I am delighted to address you as the Chairman of the Department of Electrical Engineering and extend my warmest greetings to our academic and research community. The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) is a growing department under the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and Technology (FEST), Hamdard University, Islamabad Campus. The EE department has an impressive history of producing exceptional engineers through its Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, which is proudly accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) under Level II. This accreditation reflects the department’s unwavering dedication to providing top-notch education. We also offer a postgraduate program at the MS level in the same field. Similarly, we are excited to launch new programs including BS and ADP in (Electrical Vehicles, Industrial Automation, and the Internet of Things) starting in the Fall 2023 semester to meet the upcoming demand of practical fields and modern trends of society.

Our constant dedication to educational quality and providing our students with a demanding and up-to-date curriculum equips them to succeed in the exciting field of electrical engineering. Our faculty members, renowned for their expertise, are here to inspire and support our students on their educational journey. The Hamdard University Research Committee (HURC) provides financial assistance to the Electrical Engineering Department of FEST-IC to support its research and development initiatives. NGIRI-Ignite is a consistent source of financial support for the final-year projects undertaken by graduate students in this department. Some faculty members are also involved in supervising industrial projects, and a few of them are offering assistance to the industry in troubleshooting their systems.

Our department is actively engaged in ground-breaking research in several of fields of electrical engineering, including renewable energy, power systems, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, as evidenced by the publication of high-impact research articles in well-renowned international journals. We strongly encourage both faculty and students to engage in innovative research that tackles real-world challenges and contributes to the advancement of technology and society.

PLO_1 Engineering Knowledge: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PLO_2 Problem Analysis: An ability to identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

PLO_3 Design/Development of Solutions: An ability to design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PLO_4 Investigation: An ability to investigate complex engineering problems in a methodical way including literature survey, design and conduct of experiments, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and synthesis of information to derive valid conclusions.

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Hamdard University offers a Bachelor’s Degree Program BE (Electrical) spanning over 4 years. The program has been prepared in accordance with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) guidelines. Based on satisfactory compliance submitted by the department as per PEC 105^th EAB decision, for B.E. Electrical Engineering program is accredited up to Intake Batch 2018 under level-II.

• Intermediate or an equivalent examination (Pre-Engineering)/B.Tech. with at least 60% marks
• Must have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at HSSC / A- level
• Applicants with O-Level / A-Level and Technical studies must submit equivalence from IBCC
